PalmOne released the Zire 71 handheld as part of its Spring 2003 launch. In an effort to reach a younger audience, Palm wanted the style of the tour to feel like a DVD movie interface, while also retaining the look and feel of the Zire brand. The tour was done in 16:9 ratio to simulate a widescreen movie format. Other DVD-like features included "Play Movie", "Scene Selections", and "Deleted Scenes" menu items.
