Palm One released the Zire handheld as part of its Fall 2002 launch. The Zire handheld was Palm One's first entry-level device and was marketed to a mass audience as a fun, easy to use, stylish, and affordable handheld. With Palm One introducing the Zire as a new brand for this and future Zire handhelds, a strong emphasis was placed on using the new Zire colors and style throughout the entire tour to get customers accustomed to the new Zire brand.
